Geetha KB's strength lies in her positive outlook and passion for learning from every experience she has. Her never say die attitude has always helped her survive any obstacle that came her way

Background: A graduate in commerce with specialization in computer science from Sai College for Women, Bangalore University, Geetha began her career in 1993 with a courier company named Skaipak Couriers. But it was only in 1997 that she took her first step into the IT world through Veritas. It was here that Geetha realized her real potential, and while serving as the senior marketing manager in Veritas she came in contact with the giants in this space. Thereafter, she switched several
companies including Tech Pacific (now Ingram Micro) and Sogo Computers but in 2000 her entry into Microsoft gave her the much-needed profile she hadalways desired.

Job Profile: At Microsoft, Geetha is responsible for designing schemes and managing channel partners starting from distributors, aggregators and volume partners to tier-3 resellers. “It is channel where lies the companies strength. They are our biggest assets.
Therefore, I ensure that I not only device unique programs for the channel but also interact with them and help them liquidate their stocks easily.” Geetha ensures that she delves deeper into the problems that the channel face.

Challenges: “I always used to ponder, where I would land after college but gradually I learnt the tricks of the trade,” Geetha noted. The moment she stepped out of college, Geetha found herself interacting with clients such as small shop owners. Initially it used to make her feel awkward and uneasy. But with time and luck favoring her she quickly found her way into the industry.

Strengths: 'Never Say Die' is the success mantra for Geetha. She believes that her strength lies in her positive attitude and passion for learning from every experience she has. “There is no alternative to hard work and thus no shortcuts. Besides no one should live on past laurels,” she added.

Hobbies: Geetha is passionate about singing. She has taken part in various competitions, both at school and college level. She has a penchant for classical music and folk songs. Her hobby is spending time with her pet Labrador.

Future Plans: “At every stage of one's career there are certain set of skills that one needs to keep acquiring,” Geetha reaffirmed. More than the designation it is the profile that matters to her and she is always hunting for even more challenging ones. But close to her heart is the desire to serve the society.
