The rain and traffic clogged roads of Chennai did not deter almost 300 channel partners from across South India who gathered to cheer the award winners at The 11th Annual DQ Week Awards night.

The awards night was held in association with Sify. Other vendors who also associated with the awards included D-Link and DigiLink, K7 Computing, Supertron Electronics and Delta. While Sybase was the Business Intelligence Partner for the event, EMC partnered for a unique Information Infrastructure Award and Royal Challenge was the Beverage Partner. Supporting the awards was Tamil Nadu's umbrella channel association Confed-ITA.

The evening kicked off with Anil Pant, VP-Channel Sales, Sify and Shiv Nath Ghosh, VP-Enterprise Application Services, Sify talking about the benefits that channel partners can derive by selling services.

In his trademark style of not banking on presentation to drive home the point Pant remarked, “I as usual do not have a presentation. I believe that partners should listen to people from their own community whether our services have yielded any benefits for them or not. My saying it alone will not help at all.” With that Pant invited one of Sify's premium partners to come on stage and share his experiences and tell the gathering about the positives that his business has seen since tying up with Sify.

After the presentation it was time for the awards ceremony to start. The awards, each year are decided by an independent jury which comprises of eminent people from IT industry, who are closely aligned with the channels. The jury deliberates on a given set of parameters to come to the final conclusion and decide winners.

For the first time this year The DQ Week and Confed-ITA also came together to institute an award for the channel partners of Tamil Nadu. The first ever DQ Week-Confed ITA Upcoming Entrepreneur was bagged by Universys. PN Prasad, President, Confed-ITA gave away the trophy to a jubilant Arangswamy and Karthik.
