The DQ Week recently organized IT Panchayat in the city of nawabs, Lucknow. Channel partners took the opportunity to interact with the national distributor representatives present and put forward their grievances and concerns. The face-to-face interaction of channel partners with distributors gave way to a heated discussion over several issues that partners are facing.

Initiating the dialogue, partners admitted that DoA is the biggest issue that needs attention from both the distributors and vendors.

“We have to do the replacement for the customers at our own cost. The issues are pending for more than three to four months,” said Sandeep Saxena of Guys Computers.

Replying to the issue, Mayank Srivastava of Redington said that to handle the DoA cases, Redington has a team that looks after such issues and channel partners need to escalate the matter in the right direction.

The panel included Vikas Singhal of Sigma IT Superstore, Sanjay Gupta of Sunshree Computers, Sandeep Saxena of Guys Computers, Ramendra of Ingram Micro and Mayank Srivastav of Redington. The event was sponsored by Symantec, Emerson, Gigabyte and GoIP.

The event also had an engaging presentation by Vishal Sinha, Territory Sales Manager-Upcountry and East, Symantec who elaborated that Symantec products are suitable for all users, be it enterprise-class solution for end-point management, back up recovery or end point and messaging security.

He further said, “Recovery is different from backup and to recover lost data urgently, we have a solution. With the increase in e-mail traffic, the requirement of anti-spam solutions is also increasing. There are big challenges prevailing in the market related to expansion of e-mails, increasing mobility and focus on return of investment.”

Leveraging on the aspects where partners can churn profitability, he further said, “Symantec has grown from anti-virus solution to architecture managing solution and there are various schemes running for partners based on their sales target. The need to protect laptops and desktops has increased, and also end-to-end business solutions requires high level of security.”

Showcasing the market presence of Emerson, Ausim Khan, Senior Manager-Channel Business Development, Emerson said, “All the Fortune 500 companies are our customers and few of the names include Airtel, Nokia, HDFC, Indian Oil, Oracle, I-Flex and ICICI.”

Sunil G of Gigabyte and Girijesh of GoIP gave presentations on the upcoming technology and solutions from their stable.
