Strengthening the as- sociation and getting united were the key topics of
discussion among partners present at the recently held IT Panchayat in Mysore,
organized by The DQ Week and DQ Channels.
The panelists at the event included KS Venkatesh, VP, Deal-IT Association and
Proprietor, QDP Technologies; Ganesha N Sharma, Proprietor, Pramukh
Infosolutions; Kumara Swamy JN, Proprietor, SS Systems and Services; and Manoj
Jain, Proprietor, Sunrise Sales and Marketing.
“Although our association is over 10 years old and has about 60 members, no
significant activity has happened since long,” lamented Venkatesh. Sharma agreed
with him saying, “The association gets active at the time of crisis. Otherwise
most partners deal with vendor issues on an individual basis, which is not a
very effective way to get solutions to the various issues that we face. It is
time that partners come together and stand up for a cause as a single unit.”
Voicing his concern over the laxity of interest and enthusiasm among the
association members, Swamy said, “Using this platform, we call upon members of
the association to spare a little more time and attend all meetings that are
called for to help make the association more proactive.”

Reacting to the call, some partners felt that the association needed a revamp
and new entrants in the industry should also be invited to join the association.
This they felt would send out a positive message and also break the monotony of
an inactive association. Responding to that, Venkatesh invited participants to
come forward and sign up for the association membership. He also said that in
the next association meeting, not only will new members be added but the current
management would also be revamped.
“The best way to resolve any issue pertaining to the business of IT is to
come together as a united front and escalate the problem to the vendors,” said
Jain. “We distributors have formed an association and realized that it is better
to approach vendors as a united entity than going individually with our
problems,” he added.
Interestingly, they said that the impact of a huge market like Bangalore had
decreased with Mysore growing into an IT hub itself. Partners were also happy
that a distributor like Redington had set-up office an in Mysore.
Earlier during the event, Baidya made a presentation and called upon partners
in Mysore to sign up with them and promised not just good products but effective
service support too.
