MS Sidhu believes in constantly keeping in touch with nature. For him a connection with the natural elements is the only way to recharge from his hectic work life. While there are innumerable ways to touch base with the wind, earth and nature in general, Sidhu has chosen to do it with his bike
Bikes and MS Sidhu, MD of Bangalore’s Apara Enterprise Solutions, have always gotten along well. His latest pride is the ‘Triumph’, a 2300cc bike that is said to be the fastest on the planet and is certainly a beauty to watch in motion. Given that it is a heavy bike and generates quite a lot of heat, Sidhu chooses to ride it on the outskirts of Bangalore.
“I was fascinated by bikes and automobiles since my childhood days in Chandigarh,” revealed Sidhu about his fondness for the ‘mean machine’. He is a self-taught rider who just took off one fine morning on a scooter and has since then driven the best of breed bikes across the globe.
Heavy weight machines from Harley Davison and BMW especially fascinate him. From the Japanese makes to the British and the UK ones, Sidhu has driven almost all brands of bikes.
He also has a passion for cars and has driven or owned many of the best global brands. “It is not about a need to flaunt, but rather living up to one’s passion. Also there is some kind of a ‘male thing’ attached to automobiles and bikes,” quipped Sidhu while talking of his first love.
Sidhu is part of many groups that has bike enthusiasts as members and regularly goes on cross-country rides. He takes off to nature spots and valleys whenever time permits.
A shrewd businessman and a bike enthusiast, Sidhu has more feathers to his cap besides bike riding. They include a passion for photography and painting. In fact a selection of his photographs have been put together for a calendar.
“Photography and painting are an art and one needs to be in the right frame of mind to indulge in them. It is my bike riding that sets up this mood for me,” said Sidhu. Credence to that is the fact that Sidhu always carries his camera along with him on all his bike adventures. “You never know when the mood for a ‘click and shoot’ can come by,” he quipped.
