AGENCY REVENUE (RS Cr)

MEASURES THAT MATTERED

Focused on services, which brought in Rs 75 crore
Invested Rs 12.5 crore on infrastructure and personnel

Datacraft's greater focus on service pushed its revenues up by 23% and moved it to #7 in the Silver Club from its previous year’s #9

Datacraft moved up smartly two notches in the Silver Club to settle at the 7th position with a revenue of Rs 214 crore. This was an increase of 23% over the previous fiscal.

The year started off with a bang for Datacraft with AMJ revenues standing at Rs 123 crore. JAS was a bit slower garnering Rs 47 crore, though business picked up in the next quarter fetching in Rs 68 crore.

Banking was the strong buying segment for Datacraft contributing Rs 106 to the total revenues, followed by BPOs and call centers, which brought in Rs 84 crore. Says CEO, Dilip Kumar, “One of our big banking order was from the State Bank of India, where we linked 1,400 branches in Phase 1. In the call-center business, we are already servicing the top 15 companies, including Daksh, Dell and Spectramind.”

Last year, Datacraft also got into services which contributed Rs 75 crore in the first year itself. The services gamut starts with design, project management, NOC and culminates with consultancy services. It also offered SLA-based services to banks and other customer verticals.

With the good growth witnessed in services business, Datacraft has decided to focus on this segment for the current year also.

“We invested over Rs 12.5 crore in expanding our reach to over 19 new locations and employed over 60 employees. All of these new recruits were for our design and support divisions,” informs Dilip. It set up a NOC and centralized helpdesk as well as a StarTrac training center in Bangalore. The company will continue to invest in people and technology to offer the latest end-to-end solutions to its clients.

Datacraft clients in the banking segment include Federal bank and Deutschebank, while Oracle, Texas Instruments and Satyam are its strong EOU and STP customers. “In telecom, we are working with Sify, VSNL and Bharti,” says a delighted Dilip.

The company expects to grow at 23% this year also, by concentrating on ITES and the banking verticals.
