Compuage Infocomm Ltd has made available the Creative Xmod- X-Fi module for
PC and Mac. Promising MP3 music beyond stereo quality, the new product restores
the details and vibrance that music lost during MP3 compression. So users can
enjoy all their music and movies in surround sound with any stereo speaker
system or headphone. It connects in seconds to a notebook, PC or Mac to create
an Xtreme Fidelity sound system. Creative Xmod is a true plug-and-play-no
software installation needed. The X-Fi technology in the Xmod restores the
details, expands the music to surround sound and creates an experience that goes
beyond studio quality. The Xmod expands stereo MP3s and digital movies into
virtual surround sound through stereo speakers or headphones. Voices are
centered in front and ambient sound appears all around the listener, just like a
live performance.

Slip on the headphones and X-Fi also moves the sound away into the space
around and listeners will be surrounded by nine virtual speakers and feel like
they are with their favorite band. Or that they've been dropped into the best
seats in the movie theater.
