AMD announces Vista-ready ATI Radeon line of graphics

Monday, November 20, 2006

AMD has announced its new range of graphic processors that are able to harness the richness of Windows Vista namely ATI Radeon X1950 XTX, ATI Radeon X1950 PRO and ATI Radeon X1650 XT.

Radeon X1950 XTX lets users experience stunning 3D graphics in today's most advanced games courtesy the latest memory support (up to GDDR4) and Shader Model 3.0. ATI's fastest multi-GPU platform unites the power of two graphics cards to accelerate games even further with Crossfire. The X1950 supports high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP), a method of digital rights management that protects content. With a graphics card and a monitor that supports HDCP users can view this copy protected by high-definition content.

The Radeon X1950 is a recommended graphics board for Windows Vista, Microsoft's soon-to-be-released operating system. It provides full support for Vista's image-intensive features, including Aeroglass, and enhances gaming, digital photo and multimedia applications. The Radeon X1950 XTX is available at a suggested retail price of Rs 19,900.

Radeon X1950 Pro is the first graphics card to make use of new native CrossFire technology, simplifying the multi-GPU experience by eliminating the need for a branded CrossFire Edition card. Using CrossFire Bridge interconnect-cables that attach directly to the cards, installation is easy and gamers get a clean, elegant look.

Bringing ATI's high-end features into the mid-range gives gamers blistering performance and gorgeous image quality that's unmatched at this price. The ATI Radeon X1950 Pro has a suggested retail price of Rs 17,900.

Radeon X1650 XT delivers stunning 3D graphics, excellent performance and all the extensive features of a high-end graphics processor. It enables systems to handle the latest games, high definition digital video and Windows Vista with confidence. The X1650 is capable of displaying a billion colors, more than competing graphics processors and boasts one of the highest video performance scores in the industry. The product will be available in November 2006.
