Responding to the trends of Internet activities and security, Planet now brings XRT-412, a solution for high speed Internet access, and worry-free surfing on the net. The built-in connection wizard in XRT-412 (dynamic IP, fixed IP, PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP, big pond) are optimized for different ISP environments around the world and various DDNS client support, the Planet XRT-412 is able to use most connection types, and meet the most demanding Internet application requirements.

XRT-412 provides dual USB ports for USB printer sharing. Multiple printers connect to the XRT-412's USB ports and can be shared by all PCs on the LAN segment. Printing tasks can be completed without requiring an additional print server adapter.

Via the user-friendly management interface, XRT-412 can be managed by workstations running standard web browsers. Furthermore, XRT-412 provides DHCP server, virtual server, DMZ, PPTP/IPSec pass through, and URL filtering capability. It also integrates user-defined access control and SPI firewall protection, offering high efficiency and extensive protection for network.

The XRT-412 supports virtual server with port re-direction features to share local resources like e-mail, FTP or HTTP servers connected to the Internet in a more convenient way. DMZ capability not only brings convenience to Internet applications demanding bi-directional data transmission, but also enables LAN side servers to act as an independent Internet node that communicates with the Internet in both directions. The XRT-412 supports various Internet applications such as interactive gaming, telephony, and conferencing applications to meet the needs of various Internet applications. UPnP support in XRT-412 brings users convenient management, and eliminates configuration time with different application/software. (UpnP functionality requires Microsoft Windows ME/XP or later version).
