Dell introduced the PowerEdge SC1420 server with specially packaged
configuration tools to help small businesses set up and use a server for the
first time. The technologies enable small businesses and workgroups to better
address core applications such as file/print, web and e-mail. Intel´s latest
Xeon processors with Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T) and PCI Express I/O
technology are integrated to improve overall system performance. It has the Dell
Server Assistant for PowerEdge SC CD to simplify and speed installation,
enabling customers to have their server up and running in as little as 30
minutes.
Other features include dual Intel Xeon processors with EM64T, PCI Express I/O
technology, 800 MHz front side bus, up to 8GB DDR-2 memory, up to four SCSI or
Serial ATA hard drives with RAID options, Gigabit Ethernet network connectivity
and Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003,
or Red Hat Linux ES 3.0. The PowerEdge SC1420 is available worldwide. The server
is priced at Rs 52,144.
