Siliguri: Aiming to spread aggressively in the North Bengal market, Neoteric has recently appointed Universal Computers as its exclusive partner for its McAfee product range in North Bengal.

The agreement signed in October has already come into vogue, with Universal on its way to tap the SOHO and SMB market segment through its widespread channel network.

“McAfee carries a good brand reputation and is well known in the market. Our channel base also recommended us to tie-up with Neoteric for the McAfee range of products,” said Debojyoti Gupta, Chief Executive, Universal Computers.

With the addition of McAfee in its product portfolio, Universal Computers is targeting to increase its revenue by 20 percent on an MoM basis. Initially, the company will opt for the single-user pack, targeting the SOHO segment primarily, and is planning to increase to the SMB and enterprise domain at a later stage.

“McAfee has an excellent product line, with enhanced security features and provides data back-up with identity protection, which is in demand now. With the addition of this anti-virus product, we are targeting to reach all possible income groups,” Gupta added.

Lately, Universal has also taken up the regional distributorship of Kaspersky with Sea Infonet, vesting its sales responsibilities to the company.

In this product line too, Universal is primarily dealing with the single-user pack, clearly signifying its target to spread across the SOHO segment.

Discussing the plans of Universal Computers in the near future, Gupta concluded, “We are coming up very aggressively in the North Bengal market, and are looking forward to add atleast four exclusive regional distributorship every FY.”

“Also, besides our focus on regional distributorship, we are heavily concentrating on the retail front and are planning to come up with new process in the retail segment in the coming two quarters,” Gupta added.
