Plustek announces the launch of Plustek OptiCard 611

Enables export and import of contacts from an array of options including outlook express, PDA, Lotus notes

DQC NEWS BUREAU

Thursday, July 03, 2008

Plustek, the image solution company, announces the availability Plustek OptiCard 611 in the Indian market. It is a palm-size business card scanner and operates automatically without needing any power adapter. Once it is configured with the PC, OptiCard 611 scans multiple cards at a faster rate (10ppm) bidding adieu to the bulky and shabby card folders.

Plustek OptiCard 611 is small and can scan the entire card on the spot and saves the contacts to searchable BCR database options. The in-built OCR software automatically recognizes the characters and captures company's name, address, website along with person's name, mobile number and other details.

Dr Karen Ku, VP, Plustek said, “It is a real utility product. It has always been a difficult task for the contacts to migrate to various mail messaging options and often the user loses vital data in the process of transition. On the other hand, the OptiCard 611 comes with inbuilt capability to migrate data at its source of capturing so no need to worry of losing the data, as it jells well with most of the mail messaging tools.”

Karen added, “India is potentially large market for Plustek OptiCard611 because there is a constant growth in organized business and exchange of business cards is very common. People generally store the cards in the card folders but unfortunately the folders' number is growing and searching contacts from a number of folder is a tedious task but with the OptiCard611, it is very easy to find contacts and even easy to send mail. This helps the desktop to be clean and better looking.”
