Taiwan-based global motherboard major, Gigabyte Technology has unveiled its
new mobo offering at the ongoing Computex 2008 in Taiwan. The company is
planning to increase its channel base in India as well.
With an aim of bringing freshness to its existing line of mobos, Gigabyte
Technology has unveiled its latest range of motherboards featuring proprietary
Ultra Secure and Ultra Power Efficient technologies.
The new offering, include GA-EP45-EXTREME and GA-EG45M-DS2H motherboards
based on Intel's Series 4 chipsets as well as GA-MA790GP-DS4H based on AMD's
790GX chipset.
“Computex is a great platform to launch such products. We are pretty exited
about these products and I am quite sure that that these products will deliver
what our customers needs globally,” informed Tim Handley, Manager-Asia
Business Division, Business Center, Gigabyte.
Talking about the current trends governing this space, Handley said that
energy efficiency, security and over clocking and the three most important
trends that are reshaping the way products are being developed in this fast
moving space of motherboards.
“I am proud to say that we are addressing all these areas very efficiently.
Our dynamic energy saver (DES) technology reduces the wastage of electricity, we
are giving trusted platform module (TPM) to address security and all our
products are setting new standards as far as over clocking is concerned,” he
explained.
Explaining the importance of the burgeoning Indian market, Handley said that
Gigabyte has already given huge importance to India as a strategic location. “We
already have our manufacturing facility in Goa where we are producing more than
60,000 motherboards per month,” he added.
Increase in channel base
Riding high on its new product launches, the company is looking at going to
new geographical locations within India as well as increase its existing channel
base in the sub-continent.
“At present we have 120 premium partners and 400 value partners working
with us in India. As we launch these products in the Indian market, we are
planning to add 22 more cities. Here we are looking at adding over 50 value
partners,” informed Anant Chaturvedi, Regional Manager-Sales, Gigabyte
Technology (India).
Ingram Micro, Redington and Avnet are distributing Gigabyte products in the
