Websense has announced details of its APAC Partner Conference to be held in Thailand from May 13 to 15, 2008. This is the first gathering of Websense's regional partners since the company launched its Websense ChannelConnect Global Partner Program earlier this year. Around 100 partners from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Middle East will be in attendance.

Websense executive speakers who will attend the event include Doug Wride, President; John McCormack, Senior VP-Engineering; Geoff Haggart, Senior VP-Asia Pacific; Leo Cole, VP-Marketing and Tim Lee, VP-Asia Pacific.

Websense will take advantage of the forum to launch essential information protection in the APAC region. This outlines how businesses can adopt a data-centric security strategy that harnesses the power of Web 2.0 technologies while protecting a company's essential information from emerging threats and internal data loss. Other sessions will include briefings on security predictions for the Asia Pacific region, the changing threat landscape, and messaging and hosted security. Key learning from case study presentations will enable partners to share insights on how companies can implement Websense solutions for powerful results.

The partner conference will also host the region's first APAC Partner Council, allowing key partners to provide feedback and discuss ways to better improve the partner program and Websense's engagement with the channel.

Lee said, “Our partners are a critical part of the Websense go-to-market strategy in the region. They enable us to scale our business and provide the deep domain expertise required to deliver specialised security solutions to customers. The value of the conference for partners reaches far beyond just the conference sessions. The networking opportunities throughout the event allow us to connect with attendees in meaningful ways. We look forward to interacting with as many partners as possible at the event.”

In January, Websense successfully launched its ChannelConnect Global Partner Program, which combines the best program features and benefits from Websense and SurfControl channel partner programs worldwide. The program makes it easier for channel partners to engage, sell and support Websense's growing suite of essential information protection solutions.

In addition, Websense's ChannelConnect Partner Program offers a single framework that scales to meet the needs of small and medium-size business (SMB) to enterprise-focused channel partners.
