Canon India has announced a new way to shop for and experience an array of products with the official launch of its first Xperience Zone in Pune. The store will display a comprehensive display of Canon's offerings in the consumer space including printers, scanners, projectors, digital cameras, digital camcorders and all-in-one devices. VP Sajeevan, Assistant Director-Consumer System Products, Canon India, inaugurated the store. This is the second store launch in 2008 and fifth store in the country. Canon aims to open one such store every month in the country.

“Canon Xperience store allows customers to touch, feel and experience the product before actually buying it. These stores also help business by tapping demand through their innovative design. Further, they provide the right ambience and right platform for new products to be showcased. Most importantly, the consumer can now obtain first hand information on new products launched and make an informed choice of purchase. Canon believes in enhancing consumer experience by offering user-friendly solutions. These stores are an attempt to provide consumers with an interactive and informative shopping experience,” explained Sajeevan.

A trained personnel will be on hand throughout the store to guide consumers through product trials and purchasing decisions. “We're seeking to retain, and win over, customers' loyalty by simplifying the buying decisions and delivering a fun filled shopping experience,” said Sajeevan.

“We have received an overwhelming response from our customers. We are aiming to reach out to our customers with an objective of strengthening our relationship with them. The company also hopes to generate more walk-ins and provide the consumer with a product experience exactly as if he/she was in his/her house using the product,” he added.

Canon already has a presence in the country for its product portfolio across 4,000 outlets and is expected to increase it to 6,000 by December 2008. Increasing the company's presence across all retail formats; Canon will be opening large exclusive Canon showrooms in all the major markets across India.
