TELiBrahma Convergent Communications, provider of mobile solutions, in partnership with the Commercial Street Association has introduced a Bluetooth advertising solution called 'Blue Genie' in the Commerical Street at Bangalore. The whole street is converted into a Bluetooth zone and customers on Commercial Street can avail the best of deals and discounts offered by retail shops at zero cost by turning the blue tooth application 'on' on their mobile phones.

Retailers on the street, using TELiBrahma's solution can define what they want to communicate to their customers and provide deals or discounts in graphically rich format. Further more, they can send customized or personalized offers to their loyal customers.

"This a pure permission-based mobile advertising offer - consumers get the best of the deals, and retailers get to use a robust and cost effective advertising medium. It is very advantageous for consumers as they get access to information/deals and discounts at no cost as this is a telecom operator independent service," said Narasimha Suresh, CEO, Telibrahma Convergent Communications.

Starting from this festive season, the solution will extend itself as a permanent feature in the street. The solution is deployed by TELiBrahma and is ready for utilization. "We will initially do a trial run of the solution for a period of fifteen days with select stores on the street (like DCM, Nobel Furnishings, The Favorite Shop etc..,) and then will extend it to 100 of the 200 shops in the area", added Ajay Motwani, Secretary, Commercial Street Association.

Interestingly, by introducing this solution TELiBrahma wants to give a platform for the SME segment and perceive how mobile marketing facilitates retailers. "In this perspective the advertising cost associated to advertise on this medium is kept very low", added Suresh.

TELibrahma also plans to introduce a mobile application that would become a Commercial Street location guide that would help consumers to locate the retail outlet they intend to shop at.

Similar kind of Bluetooth mobile marketing solution is deployed at The Forum and Total Mall in Bangalore.
