During the four-day IT expo organized by Allahabad Computer Dealers'
Welfare Association, participating partners witnessed a rising interest in
customers for possessing not only high-end desktops but also laptops priced in
the range of Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000. ACDWA organized the four-day event in
Allahabad from October 13 to October 16 and the expo saw the participation
around 5 lakh visitors. Dealers who had set stalls at the event were seen
talking to customers about upcoming technologies.
The IT expo was a part of 'Mid-night bazaar' where 40 IT stalls occupied
the space. Major IT vendors including, Lenovo, HP, HCL, Compaq, Sahara and Intel
also participated in the event.
Shiv Shankar Singh, President, ACDWA informed that the event was highly
successful and the customer turn-up was unexpectedly enormous. “We have got
commendable support from all vendors who are offering the products with various
schemes. The prices are low in the expo as compared to regular busines. We hope
to organize such an event every year,” he added.
Manish Mehrotra, Secretary, ACDWA, commented that it was surprising to see
the interest of customers especially home users in buying desktops and laptops
that too for their kids and better halves. “The success of the event is marked
by the visiting of customers and the rush is so much that the dealers are unable
to attend all the customers personally and are unable to give much time. This is
a good sign and marks the high interest of customers towards technology,” said
Mehrotra.
Singh further highlighted that though the expo has been a part of Midnight
Bazaar, a mega exhibition centre, the association would try to organize the expo
on their own from the upcoming year. Page(s) 1
