Seagate Technology has expanded its product line with the announcement of new hard drives and retail solutions. The company announced nine new products, which focus on data security and increased capacity to meet the demand for digital content. Included among the products are new Maxtor storage solutions.

Seagate also announced the first one terabyte (TB) hard drive with full disc encryption for strong data security; capacity increases of up to 60GB for the Seagate D.A.V.E. (Digital Audio Video Experience) technology platform, and up to 1TB for its DB35 Series hard drives for DVRs and home media centers and the SV35 Series digital video surveillance hard drive.

Seagate's new Maxtor OneTouch 4 family of external solutions includes:

a) Maxtor OneTouch 4 storage solution for set up, managing data backup, file archiving and system settings with a new easy-to-use interface. This is available for Mac or PC platforms in 250GB, 500BG or 750GB capacities.
b)Maxtor OneTouch 4 Plus backup and storage solution, that includes Maxtor SafetyDrill software to prepare, boot, and recover the Pcs entire internal hard drive contents in case of system failure or virus/spyware infection. The Maxtor OneTouch 4 Plus is available in capacities up to 750GB and includes two levels of security to guard against unauthorized use of a lost or stolen drive.
c) Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini, a first mobile storage solution that ships with a full suite of software protection tools.

Meanwhile the Seagate Digital Audio Video Experience (D.A.V.E.) is available with up to 60GB of storage and delivers wireless storage using Bluetooth or WiFi. It is customizable and designed to be branded as a technology accessory for mobile handset OEMs, networks, automobile and automotive component manufacturers, media center and DVR brands.

The DB35 Series hard drives for DVRs and Home Media Centers now provides a terabyte of capacity in a single drive; while the SV35 Digital Video Surveillance hard drives now have a top capacity of oneTB, providing up to 32 full days of high-resolution video streaming. With nearly eight times the capacity of a 160GB hard drive, a single 1TB SV35 enables a multitude of video cameras to be deployed, significantly increasing the cost-effectiveness of the S-DVR system.

Additionally the Barracuda FDE hard drive, a 3.5-inch, 7,200-rpm hard drive automatically encrypts all desktop PC information with AES encryption and provides a platform for simplifying enterprise deployment of the drive, and lets organizations easily repurpose or retire desktop computers without compromising information.

Seagate's Momentus 5400.4 hard drive is a 250GB notebook computer hard drive, which is a 2.5 inch, 5400-rpm drive and boasts of perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology. It features a super-speedy Serial ATA 3.0 Gbit/second interface and 250GB of capacity on just two platters. The Cheetah 15K.6 hard drive is built for transaction-intensive enterprise servers and storage systems and is available in capacities of 450GB, 300GB, and 147GB.
