NEW DELHI
APRIL 27, 2007

The channel community in Uttar Pradesh has come up with a state level association named as Uttar Pradesh Computer Dealers Association (UPCDWA), with 1500 members spanning from the entire state including members and non-members of regional associations.

The association is headed by Rohit Kohli as President and Yogendra Dixit as Senior VP. There are eight VPs who are the presidents of their respective regional associations that include Vivek Chandra, Gautam Chandra, Ajay Grover, Sanjay Gupta, Arun Bhargava, Shivshankar, Sanjay Aggarwal and Sharavan Mehrotra. Manish Mehrotra is the Secretary of the association.

According to the members of the association, they were planning to form an association for the entire state for the last three years and were very excited about its formation.

Kohli expressed that the main objective behind forming this association was to have a joint body where any issue from any region can be easily raised and heard by everybody.

We wanted a centralized body that regulates all the issues and dealers find a convenient platform for placing their problems. There are often issues related to inter-cities and hence the need for a joint body led to form this association, expressed Kohli.

Members of the association stated that since UP is such a vast state with varied people with their multiple issues, there was a need of a centralized body to connect everybody.

This association ensures a streamlined connectivity where all the partners are inter-related and it gives them an opportunity to represent themselves on business as well as personal front, expressed Mehrotra.

Mehrotra further pointed that at present, the main objective of the association is to develop unity and feeling of oneness among entire members so as to face all the issues collectively. Since this is the first year of association, we are aiming to develop unity as the foundation stone so that any members of any region come forward and render its full fledged support to others, he said.

As per the structuring of the association, any member for any issue need to report to his respective vice president who will bring the matter to the center.
