In an endeavor to create awareness about digital printing industry, Xerox India, Karnataka State Printers Association (KSPA) and the Government of Karnataka announced a joint tie-up for setting up the first-of-its kind print testing and training centre in Bangalore.

Spread out over an area of 4,500 Sq ft in 4th main, Chamarajpet, Bangalore, the training centre was jointly inaugurated by Katta Subramanya Naidu (Minister for Heavy and Medium industries, Government of Karnataka), KM Shiva Kumar (Principal Sectary, Commerce and Industries Secretariat Government of Karnataka) for the inauguration of the Digital Learning Center and Andrew Horne (MD, Xerox India) for the inauguration of Testing and Training division.

The Xerox KSPA Print Testing and Training Centre will be equipped with state-of-the-art Digital printing technology from Xerox that will offer comprehensive modules on vocational skills to assist students with technical capabilities in the domain of pre-press, press, post-press and digital printing. Set up with the purpose to encourage a growing number of students/entrepreneurs to evaluate a career in digital printing industry, the training centre will offer over 18 courses/modules and will have over six faculties and visiting well-known experts from the Digital printing industry. Additionally the centre will have over 11 machines installed and eight computers to ensure on the job-training skills along with theory sessions.

Sharing details of the tie-up, Horne said, "This is a moment of pride and happiness for Xerox India as we partner with Karnataka State Printers Association for the first of its kind educational initiative that will benefit 5000 professionals annually. As the industry grows and matures, it requires professional training and development of technical capabilities in an organized form. The tie-up with KSPA is part of our long term commitment to continue to grow the industry and be the first to develop a strong educational platform for the Indian digital printing industry."

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Ashok Kumar, President, KSPA said, "With a heritage of over five decades in printing industry, we hope to take Xerox KSPA Print Testing and Training Centre to a new level of educational learning. We are excited about our partnership with a global brand such as Xerox and hope that this partnership will go a long way in building a world-class training centre. We are confident that the training centre will prove to be a strong foundation to a new breed of digital printing experts in India."
