More than 24 hours after three-year-old Anant Gupta was kidnapped from near his Sector 15-A home here, the Uttar Pradesh police were still searching for clues to trace the boy.

A television channel today reported that the boy's family had received a ransom call this morning. The details were not available.

Anant, son of Adobe India head Naresh Gupta, was kidnapped by two motorcycle-borne unidentified men around 9am on Monday when the boy was on his way to the Lotus Valley School, where he was a pre-nursery student. His sister Kavita too studies in the same school.

Naresh Gupta, who was abroad when the incident took place, had reached his residence this morning.

The Special Task Force of the Uttar Pradesh police was investigating the case and had on Monday detained the domestic help, Asha, who was with Anant at the time of kidnapping.

This was the first case of kidnapping involving a family member of a top IT professional in recent years.
