NEW DELHI
NOVEMBER 14, 2006

Oracle today announced that it has established the Oracle Retail Center of Excellence in Bangalore to deliver business value to leading retailers seeking to improve profitability.

With nearly 200 retail experts, the Oracle Retail Center of Excellence is a platform for the world's largest, most successful retail organizations to exchange ideas, develop concepts and showcase scalable, best-of-breed retail solutions.

The center has global expertise in retail disciplines including merchandising, planning, optimization, analytics, store operations, supply chain and enterprise application integration, an Oracle statement said.

“Oracle is focused on helping retail businesses achieve greater profitability and return on investment,” said Jay Bhow, Head, Oracle Retail Center of Excellence. “We believe that our status as the world's leading retail software company uniquely positions us to deliver measurable business value to retailers.”

“The Oracle Retail Center of Excellence focuses exclusively on the needs of retailers and how they can improve business performance,” said Mukesh Mathur, head of Oracle's Retail Business in India. “It is an ideal platform for our retail customers to transform the economics of their businesses.”

Oracle has generated significant momentum in retail since establishing its global retail business unit in 2005. Since that time, Oracle has won more than 30 new retail customers and has completed more than 80 deployments of Oracle Retail applications globally.
