Keeping in mind the growing storage needs of SMB segment within India, storage focused Hitachi Data Systems India is looking forward to addressing this segment with its application optimization storage strategy.

As part of this initiative, the company is eyeing small regional system integrators within India, in order to help them target the burgeoning SMB segment as far as storage solutions are concerned.

“India is a growing market for storage and within this the SMB segment is one of the fastest. We already have partnerships with companies like Acer, Wipro, Ingram and Apara. Now we are trying to identify certain key system integrators for small regions and geographies to target SMB segment in this region. We are doing this with the help of Ingram and Acer. Initially, we are looking at 10 such partners within this region,” informed, Vivekanand Venogopal, Director, Software Solutions, APAC, Hitachi Data Systems India.

With its focus towards SMB, Hitachi is working towards delivering AOS strategy when it comes to solutions for areas like DR and SAN management. “This strategy comprises of four layers of – storage services, data services, content services and application services. All these layers are designed in such a way so as to deliver value to our partners. Whether it is a storage management solution of an archival solution, with the help of our AOS strategy, system integrators will be in a better position to derive better value for their set of customers,” he added.

In order to better equip its partner community when it comes to handling AOS strategy, the company is also organizing web-based certification for its partner community in this region. “We are fully committed to the development and support of Application Optimized Storage. We already have a lot of customers for this in the enterprise segment. Now we would be focusing more towards SMB and providing web based certification to our partners is a part of our overall strategy to prepare of our set of partners for this opportunity,” Venugopal added.
