Avaya Global Connect has entered into an agreement with Sony Broadcast and Professional Pacific Asia Company to market Sony

Avaya Global Connect has entered into an agreement with Sony Broadcast and Professional Pacific Asia Company to market Sony's IPELATM range of videoconferencing and surveillance products in India.

Sony products will complement the IP offerings from Avaya GlobalConnect, India, a leading player in the Video-conferencing, Audio-conferencing and Converged Communication market. The agreement would help Avaya Global Connect build on its leadership position in conferencing and collaboration market as well as provide for significant advantage in the video applications with the Video over IP (VoIP) application focus from Sony.

Pursuing the strategy of further enhancing the collaboration market space, Vivek Porwal, Head-Business Unit (Teleconferencing), Avaya Global Connect said, "Avaya is committed to redefining business processes through its Intelligent Communications approach. The collaboration is a step in this direction and will help us further consolidate our position in the IP solutions market."

With addition of Sony's IPELATM range of products, Avaya GlobalConnect will be able to provide its customers a total solution in VoIP and tap into emerging areas such as High Definition Video communications.

According to Rick Asahina, Division Manager, Business and Communication Products Marketing Division, Sony Broadcast and Professional Pacific Asia Co.

"The agreement with Avaya GlobalConnect will help boost the nationwide footprint and expertise in deploying multimedia converged solutions in India. Sony is strongly dedicated to building further the Video over IP and emerging High Definition Video applications for Education, Healthcare and Broadcasting industries under the IPELATM strategy."
