Bangalore-based Select Technologies concluded 'Rishtey 2006', its annual channel partner meet at the Radisson White Sands Resort, Goa. Held between the 1st and 4th of June, the event, for which DQ Channels was the chosen media partner, saw the participation of over 80 channel partners from all over India along with nearly 45 technology partners.

Held every year to celebrate Select's enduring partnership with its channel, Rishtey 2006 was different from its predecessors, since it was a national level event, instead of being a regional one. The four-day event began with a 'Jig Saw Puzzle', where the participants were asked to bring along with them their invites which was also a piece of a Jig saw puzzle, that when put together formed the logo of joined hands.

Post-inauguration, amidst entertainment from the Vibes dance troupe of Bangalore and singing rendered by Sathish Sarathi, the evening saw Select employees walk away with awards given as a mark of recognition for their hard work through the year. What made these awards more special were that the invited channel partners gave them away.

While the award winners included team Select's members from all over India, on the list of awardees were many partners who were felicitated under various categories of most preferred national and regional channel partners. Among the winners were IBM, Wipro, TCS and HCL Comnet along with Taarak Technologies, Raksha Technologies, Trident Technologies and Kinfotech in the security space. The winners in the storage space included Ace Data Systems, Tata Elixi, HCL Insys and Chabria.

Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, S Sriram, CEO of Select Technologies said, “Rishtey 2006 is an attempt to bring together the people, programs and processes to expand sales and help our partners gain a considerable lead over competition. Rishtey 2006 is an occasion for Select Technologies to celebrate our enduring relationship with partners that has only grown stronger with time.”

Award ceremony done with, days two and three were devoted to seminars by technology partners for the channel. As part of these sessions, participants discussed their roadmap for the year ahead, in terms of new products, technologies and were also enlightened on the market opportunities that existed for the channel and how best they could capitalize on the existing opportunity.

“From the feedback that we received, we understood that partners were on the look out for a less technology-specific event and were rather looking forward to understand how to maximize the market opportunity that they have in the security space. That is why the focus this year was to keep away from too many technical presentations,” indicated Sriram while expressing satisfaction that Select offered its partners the right platform for interaction.
