Close on the heels of setting up its India liaison office in Mumbai

Close on the heels of setting up its India liaison office in Mumbai, networking and information security manufacturer Zyxel Communications has appointed TelExcell as its distributor. Previously Zyxel was represented in the sub-continent through its sole distributor MroTek, which sold its products to the telecom sector and ISPs. Zyxel's product catalogue includes products like palm-sized portable personal firewall, wireless Gigabit router, ADSL security gateway and Internet security appliance.

Talking TelExcell's appointment Milind Kamat, Principal Representative and Consultant, Zyxel India informed, “Our product portfolio has grown from networking appliances to unified security solutions vendor and so market exposure has become indispensable. We required the service of a distribution partner who would understand our product line and the market, which is why we chose TelExcell.”

Despite making a late entry directly in India, the vendor is optimistic about securing a sizeable market share in the security arena with its UTM appliances. It has fixed its eyesight on 10% market share two years from now.

Austin Huang, Account Manager, Sales and Marketing Division, Zyxel said, “The unified threat management market in India is in a very nascent stage with only few players doling out full-blown firewall appliances. Hence the time is perfectly ripe to bank upon the opportunity that is available by aggressively focusing on the market. With our enhanced focus on security solutions products we are confident of riding high on growth charts.” According to Huang, vertical sectors that would fuel demand for UTM products are telecommunication companies, banking and financial institutions and government businesses.
