InterSystems to increase its Indian ISV strength

Targeting verticals like healthcare for its 'Cache' multidimensional database the company is planning to work closely with 50 ISVs by the end of this year

In its bid to cement its Indian operations, US-based InterSystems Corporation is embarking on a plan to increase the number of Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partnerships in the Indian region. The company is targeting segments like healthcare with the help of its Cache product offering. It is a multidimensional database that combines objects and SQL, thus eliminating object-relational mapping.

“The whole idea of Cache is to enable web application development at extraordinary transaction processing speed with massive scalability and real-time queries against transactional data-with minimal maintenance requirements. All this presents a unique opportunity for system integrators and ISVs who design and implement big and small database solutions for their set of clients,” informed, Henry Adams, Country manager Africa, Gulf and India, InterSystems.

In order to market its product range in the country, the company is working in India under the partnership of Mtech India. Keeping the potential of the Indian market in mind, InterSystems has started a division with Mtech in order to better understand and address the market needs.

“There is a huge potential that remains to be unlocked in this market. We set up this division in April 2005 with an aim to supply products and do skills transfer for the ISVs that we work with in this region,” he added.

As a direct result of this initiative, the company is now working closely with 20 ISVs in this region. Moving forward it is planning to work with more than 50 quality partners in the Indian region by the end of this year.

“Ideally we would like to work with the best of the partners in this region. Over the years, India as a country has transformed itself from a body-shopping destination to a place where quality IT solutions are being built. We are not looking at big numbers, however the ISV partners should be well committed to work with us. With the help of our partners in India – Mtech – we would be working with at least 50 ISVs by the end of this year. We would then look forward to doubling this figure every year,” he explained.

Based in the US, InterSystems Corporation has been creating, selling and supporting software targeted at professional application developers, database administrators and system integrators. In large and small organizations around the world, our flagship products – Caché and Ensemble – speed up development and integration, and make applications more scalable.
