Seagate appoints new channel manager

Rajesh Khurana will be responsible for Seagate's sales, marketing and customer service in India and SAARC Countries and his immediate focus will be to strengthen the company's alliances with local partners, distributors and resellers

Monday, July 18, 2005

Seagate Technology named Rajesh Khurana as its new Country Manager for India and SAARC countries. He takes over from Sharad Srivastava, who will leave India after a very successful tenure to take up new responsibilities at the company's regional headquarters in Singapore.

In his new role, Rajesh will be responsible for Seagate's sales, marketing and customer service in India and SAARC Countries. Rajesh is recognized as an industry expert in channel management and development, and his immediate focus will be to further strengthen Seagate's alliances with local partners, distributors and resellers. He and his team will also develop a strong retail channel for Seagate's range of external hard drive products.

"This is a very exciting time for Seagate in India as we are poised to build on the success with 10 new product offerings that we have announced recently,"
said Rajesh. We see huge potential in the consumer electronics segment, mobile computing and in the enterprise space, as well as the traditional PC market.
Seagate is committed to India and the large customer base here, and my role will be to fulfill that commitment in ways from which our customers can benefit."

Commenting upon his new role, Sharad Srivastava, who has been with Seagate for over 15 years, the last five years serving as the Country Head in India, says
that he will endeavor to replicate the success he had in India at the regional level, "Five years ago I was given a mandate to move Seagate closer to the customer, enhance customer service and strengthen our leadership position. I believe we have been successful by any measure. We initiated some cutting edge channel loyalty programs and after sales support that contributed substantially to market confidence in the Seagate brand. The challenge now is to implement these programs on a larger scale, across a number of countries."
