With an aim to increase its market share and overall footprint in the country, Singapore-based Pro Team Computer Corporation, popularly known by its Mora brand is gearing up to start its own manufacturing facility in
Noida. Situated in Phase II of Noida, the manufacturing facility would produce motherboards and graphic cards for the company's operations in the Indian region.
“The market acceptance for our products has grown multi-fold and this has prompted us to make this decision a reality. We have taken up around 1000 sq mt of space in Noida for this facility. We would be investing between Rs eight crore to Rs 10 crore for this project,” informed, Munish Sharma, Director, Overseas Operations, Pro Team Computer Corporation.
Providing a boost to the company's Indian operations, the manufacturing facility is likely to start functioning by end of second quarter for this year. “Once we start this facility, there would surely be an added advantage of cost for the overall company's operations. We will be in a better position to price our products more aggressively in the market,” he explained.
Increase in channel thrust
As the company is in the mode of strengthening its Indian operations, it is looking forward to adding vigor to its channel fabric in the country as well. Working with around 250 channel partners, presently the company has its offices in locations like
Ludhiana, Jaipur, Dehradun, Lucknow and Kolkata. Moving forward, it is looking up to strengthen its network in the Southern part of the country by opening its offices at
Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.
“Presently, we have are 32 people. This will grow considerably, once we start operations in other cities. So ideally, we would be present in about 12 to 15 major cities of the country by the end of this year. This expansion in our operations would be timed with the manufacturing of our products, this way we would be able to better leverage our manufacturing capabilities in the region, by having right channel in the right cities. We are looking forward to increasing the number of channel partners to 750 by the end of this year,” Sharma added.
Recognizing the importance of bundling products like motherboards with big OEMs in the country – the company is already engaged in the process of targeting big and small OEMs for bundling its products. “Bundling with OEMs would make more sense once we have our products manufactured over here. We would be targeting all the major OEM brands like HCL and Zenith,” he explained.
