Acer launched an exclusive promotional scheme 'Who Dares Wins' for its retailers. The contest, valid from January 2005 till March 2005 intends to reward the best and most consistent performing retail partner of Acer India. This scheme has three different contests in which channel partners can participate in and the rewards range from cash prizes to trips abroad.
The scheme is divided into three contests - Champion of Champions, Fast and the Furious and Product Challenge. The objective of the scheme is to retain the interest and keep the retail community motivated to achieve higher targets. This scheme will also ensure that there is wider participation and prolonged interest levels through the duration of the contest among retailers.
In the first contest 'Champion of Champions' a revenue target is given, based on whether they are an Acer Mall or an Acer Point and the geographic location. Achievement of the same qualifies the partner an entry to 'The Major League' and a fully paid package tour to Goa. From among these retailers, the best performing Acer Mall and Acer Point will be crowned the 'MVR' (Most valuable retailers) and they qualify to go on an all expenses paid trip to Singapore or Bangkok. Finally the Champion of Champions will emerge, this being the retailer who generates the maximum revenue during the course of the contest and this can be an Acer Mall or a Point. However this is just the beginning. When a contestant who has qualified into the Major League achieves a percentage of 25%/50%& 75% above the specified targets he will be eligible for some amazing cash prizes on offer from the company. Finally any contestant who has qualified into the 'Major League' who does 100% above the scheme target gets to go on an all expenses paid package tour for a couple to the 'Pyramids of Egypt'.
The second contest titled the 'Fast and the Furious' has two sub contests under it. The '15 days Who Dares wins' Challenge and the '30 days Who Dares wins'. In the first challenge, if the channel partner achieves his monthly target according to the scheme in the first fifteen days, he is entitled to a Rs 5,000 cash prize. And the second sub contest challenges the partner to achieve double the monthly target in one month thus entitling him to a cash prize of Rs 10, 000.
The third and final contest 'The Product Challenge' is based on particular product categories. A target will be set for the duration of the scheme which once achieved by the partner, will be rewarded over and above the specified cash prize. The awards can be claimed as soon as the target is achieved. However if the partners achieve double the target, they are eligible to claiming double the award. The product categories that are eligible for this contest are projectors, TFT monitors, Acer premium offerings like the Ultraportable and Tablet PC and the VPD server Altos G 310.
"We are confident that this scheme will ensure a better response than the previous scheme of Last Man Standing, encouraging more retail partners to perform beyond expectations. To make this a level playing field, we have designed guidelines in such a way that all our channel partners can participate in the present contest," said S Rajendran, GM - Sales and Marketing, Consumer Products Group, Acer India.
