Our Anniversary Gift To You

What differentiates a successful entrepreneur from a good businessperson? It is essentially the ability to identify the future growth areas and capitalize on it well before the rest of the industry has caught on.

But while it is easy to make lofty statements like these, it isn't as easy to figure out what are the potential business areas to focus on. This is not surprising because most of the solution providers (SPs) I know get information in silos.

They either get it when they interface with the representatives of those brands that they sell or while talking with their peers who will have their own niche technologies that they focus on. It is very difficult to get a holistic overview of the upcoming trends.

This is precisely why while brainstorming for our ninth anniversary issue; we decided that we would write about the technologies and trends that solution providers, looking at fueling their growth, could focus on. We identified some of the key markets and technology areas that are ubiquitous when it comes to solution providing. Then we got in touch with the leading players in each of these, and got them to talk about the trends that SPs could leverage on.

It took a lot of efforts and chasing up with these vendor representatives as time. Our team had to be tenacious to the point of being annoying at times. There were some vendors who did not bother to give us their insights.

But a majority of them were willing. This is because we provided them a good platform to reach out to those partners who are not part of their network but who they would like to hook up with. I thank all of those representatives who were forthcoming with their time and shared their viewpoints on the upcoming business areas.

At the same time I hope that you, my dear reader, find this issue useful and it sets off some train of thought for your business growth.

We have done our bit. Now we can only wait for you to get back with your feedback about this issue.
