In order to ensure smooth functioning of its members businesses, Computers and Media Dealers Association (CMDA), Pune, has resolved to take note of the escalating service issues. The association has recently met hard drive vendor Seagate and has requested them to look into the pending and escalating issues pertaining to replacement and other such service issues.

Talking about the same, Naresh Lalwani, President, CMDA mentioned, “We have received more than four to five service-related issues pertaining to Seagate and hence we decided to approach the vendor. It used to take them more than a month's time to look into service related issues and the turnaround time has now reduced to 15 days. In the past also we have spoken to LG, HP and now post Diwali we will be meeting Viewsonic.”

The CMDA committee has also raised another issue related to Octroi, wherein the Octroi commissioners frequently caught hold of the IT dealers in
Pune and handed them Octroi bills, despite the fact that the billing was happening within Pune itself.

On the other hand, CMDA is also planning to hold several seminars in the first week of November.

Stated Lalwani, “We hold three seminars annually and keeping the same in mind, we will be holding management seminar and health-related seminar, both for our members and their families.”

Recently CMDA also held Diwali celebrations by organizing Diwali Mela for its members and their families recently at Sanskruti restaurant. The mela witnessed participation from more than 500 members including their family members.

During the mela, members enjoyed various activities like mehandi, pottery, magic shows, tattoos, hair braiding, jugglery and savouring tasty snacks.

Sanjeev Pathare, Project Leader, welcomed all the members for Diwali Mela and informed members about flow of events. Cultural Programs began in a traditional way by Deep Prajawalan at the hands of CMDA President Naresh Lalwani and all managing committee members.

CMDA Young Artist Program is a talent search program for the members' children with a purpose of bringing out hidden talent, encouraging them and giving them stage confidence. CMDA Gaurav Awards are given to rising stars who have done excellent work in fields of academics, sports, arts and music. Keeping the same in mind, CMDA President felicitated Dhaval Adhav, Yash Gugale and Ronak Manuja with CMDA Gaurav awards for their extraordinary talent.

Dandiya, the most demanded program for the evening, was a huge success followed by a colorful firework show which gave all the members feeling of Diwali celebrations. Members relished full spread dinner enjoying melodious ghazals in the background.
