Redington provided a platform for vendors  and channel to showcase their products at the Digital Expo 2008. The event was held at Chennai Trade Center from May 16 to 18, 2008. The DQ Week was the official media partner for the expo. There were nearly 80 stalls put up by the channel partners, which displayed various products including desktops, laptops, peripherals, consumer electronics, software products, networking products, multimedia CDs for computer literacy and mobile phones to name a few.

The three-day event saw a footfall of 10,000 plus visitors.

B Ramesh Natarajan, Head-Marketing and Sales, Indian Operation, Redington India said, “One of the major reasons behind this expo is to boost the sales of the vendors and channel partners during this slow period that the total industry is witnessing today.”

Parithi Iilamvazhuthi, Minister-Information, Government of Tamil Nadu inaugurated the expo.

Speaking on the occasion, R Ravichandran, Director-South Asia, Intel said, “For the effective spread of IT usage, computing devices must be made more accessible and cheaper."

PS Neogi, President, Redington India was also present during the occasion. Natarajan informed that Redington has planned to conduct similar exhibitions across the country. “We started this exhibition in Chennai, since we are based out of here. We will replicate the same in other major cities and upcountry regions across the country,” he said.

TP Sridevi, Marketing Manager, Redington India said, “Digital Expo, Redington's first initiative in marketing was a huge success and was able to meet its objective of providing a cost-effective platform to its vendors and dealers in promoting their products.”
