SAP launches global referral program

DQC NEWS BUREAU

Thursday, May 15, 2008

SAP AG has announced the launch of a globally unified referral program that will reward referrals from both SAP partners and non-partners in the small business and midsize companies market segment. While offering companies a way to begin to work with SAP, the program helps SAP to identify potential users of its software solutions. This is done by offering rewards to participants who include members of the SAP ecosystem and other consti-tuencies, for leveraging their business relationships to refer prospects to SAP.

The new sales program is suited for value-added resellers (VARs), solution resellers (SRs) and independent software vendors (ISVs).

Referral members are rewarded when a deal is closed. In general, five percent of the deal's net software license value is paid as a closing reward. The SAP referral program is designed to make it easy for members to earn big on business opportunities they share. They need to submit leads, track their status – and returns on those leads that convert to wins for SAP solutions geared to small businesses and midsize companies.

Everone need not be an existing SAP partner to become a member. While some restrictions apply, those doing business in the SME market, become a prime candidate for the program. Regardless of their areas of expertise, if they know customers or prospects in the SME market that would benefit from SAP, they can pass the lead and SAP will work on it.

Members can even limit their involvement in the program simply to submitting leads. For each qualifying lead based on program terms and conditions in the corresponding country, they can earn rewards-just for bringing the opportunity to SAP's attention.

The program requires a one-time online registration. Once registered, members can enter the program through a dedicated referral member portal. Members can access program information via the portal, and can also register opportunities and access regular status updates on the referred lead. The SAP Referral program portal provides sales materials on the complete portfolio of SAP solutions for small business and midsize companies, along with opportunity qualification tools and e-learning sessions.

SAP Referral program members need to check their country's terms and conditions to determine total value, currency, and maximum deal size and need to register in each country to identify and submit referral opportunities.
