As if the confusion over taxation norms and service issues were not enough for the channel in Kerala, now partners have to deal with another menace-burglars. Over the past seven months, burglars have looted seven shops and the latest victim was Focuz Computers.

Last week, Focuz Computers' Eranakulam branch was robbed by burglars who took off with 11 notebooks worth Rs 6 lakh and approximately Rs 60,000 in cash. “We were shocked to
see the shutters open when we came next morning,” said Santosh Pillai, Business Manager, Focuz Computers.

Serial numbers of stolen notebooks
HP 2601 TU S2CE7411YJX and S2CE7450HPO Two
HP 6516 TX CNF7392D6N One
HP 1301TX CNF73554QW One
Compaq 707TU SCND7452PZK and SCND744X3U Two
Compaq C702 CND7453HKX One
Compaq C713 TU CND7352CT4 One
Compaq V3611AV S2CE7392DW2 One
Sony VAIO C22 S01-7002116-3 One
IBM Lenovo 3000-23Q IS204823QMA8MBKA One

“We heard from some friends that a group is trying to sell our notebooks for a much cheaper rate among the traders. This means that the burglars are still in Kerala. However, we are unable to get hold of them. Even the police are trying to find them and get our things back,” Santosh stated. Following this spate of thefts, it is time that traders start becoming careful about their security practices.
