Plustek launches new network camera

Saturday, November 04, 2006

Plustek, one of the global leaders in imaging solutions, announced the launch of its revolutionary network camera-the IPcam P1000A in India. It enables users to watch their premises-be it home, office or operation facility-from anywhere and at anytime. For example, parents can monitor their children at home, keep an eye on the pet, check if all windows are closed and the stove is turned off. Business owners can check what's happening in their office or take a look at inventory in the store no matter how far they are of what time of the day it is. Users on the move can watch live and recorded video feed from Plustek IPcam P1000A camera on their mobile computers (laptops), PDAs and cellphones enabled with Internet
connectivity. Besides this, users can also broadcast live activity videos, product shoot etc, to viewers in real time over a LAN or the Internet.

According to Karen Ku, VP, Plustek Inc, “Unlike the traditional CCTV cameras that involve high total cost of ownership (acquisition costs and recurring costs), elaborate wiring of the premises, setting up of control rooms and staffing, Plustek's OptiCam P1000A is a great security and surveillance device that works over existing computer networks and can be readily connected to the Internet.”
