Sun Microsystems announced the appointment of Denis Heraud as President, Asia
Pacific, reporting directly to Don Grantham, Executive VP-Global Sales and
Services Sun. Heraud is based in Singapore and his newly-created position is
another example of Sun's on-going investment in and commitment to the Asia
Pacific (APAC) market. It also conveys its commitment to provide innovative
solutions to its APAC customer's unique technology and business challenges,
including sustainable computing, open source software, storage and identity
management.
Heraud brings more than 25 years of international technology industry
experience to his new post. He assumes responsibility for continuing the company's
profitable growth in the region, leading relationships with Sun's customers
and partners, and increasing awareness of Sun across the APAC region.
A Sun veteran, Heraud has extensive experience, which covers the full
spectrum of the technology industry. Heraud joined Sun Microsystems, France in
1986, where he spent several years in various sales and marketing roles
culminating in his role as sales director for emerging markets. His
international career included the role of Industry sales director for Hong Kong,
Taiwan and Mainland China; the MD of Sun Middle Europe which comprised of
Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia; and the MD of the Middle East
Africa region. Prior to this appointment, Heraud was the VP of the Southern and
Eastern Europe and Middle East Africa (SEE) region, which comprises 40 percent
of the world's land mass and stretches as far east as Siberia and as far south
as Cape Town.
