Chennai-based Precision Group has announced a slew of initiatives and
expansion programs, to move onto the next level of growth. The company would get
into ERP implementation services, IT education services, consulting and
integration, besides providing infrastructure management services (IMS).
“We have invested close to Rs 5 crore for setting up Remote Infrastructure
Management (RIM) and Network Operations Center (NOC) facilities in the city,
taking up 14,000 sq ft behind Khivraj Tech Park,” said V Murali, Director,
Precision Group.
The group recently floated a new company called Techchonet for providing
solutions in the biometric space. Precision is presently developing
applications, which will be integrated with biometrics hardware products and
delivered as a solution in the market. “Biometrics is emerging as the next
hottest market and we have invested over Rs 1 crore in the project for
developing various solutions,” said Mathew Chacko, also a Director at
Precision.

The company is expanding its operations by opening offices in North and East
India, which will give them the status of a national player soon. “With all
these happening, we are confident of achieving Rs 400 crore turnover by 2009,”
said TG Ramesh, Director – Finance, Precision Group.
As part of the ERP initiative, Precision has joined hands with Microsoft to
market, implement and support their Navision solution for small and medium
enterprise (SME) customers, seeking one simple solution to increase their
productivity without disrupting day-to-day business operations.
The company is also getting into education services, providing training for
corporate, institutions and government on various platforms such as Microsoft,
Oracle and Linux. “The gap between supply and demand in the job market has
paved the way for new players to get into the IT training space. And Precision
plans to bridge this gap by producing qualified engineers, with its vast
experience and end-to-end solutions providing skills in business,” said P
Ramesh, Director - Consulting Services, Precision. He also added that the
revenue from training activity alone could be over Rs 10 crores in the next two
years.
“Precision, which started as a channel partner for HP in 1996, is today the
second largest player for HP in India. The company is among the top 10 system
integrators in India,” claimed Murali. Last year, the group achieved a
turnover of Rs 150 crore.
