Alongside the introduction of its Network On Wheels (NOW) initiative, a mobile showcasing of customized Cisco networking solutions, the networking and security solutions vendor will soon make provisions to financing networking projects of SMB customers. Its finance wing, Cisco Capital, will offer this project funding facility to prospective SMB customers who would want to upgrade their existing IT infrastructure.

Until recently Cisco Capital was offering funding options for enterprise customers only in India. But with the NOW vans traversing the smaller towns, it anticipates huge business from the SMB sector. NOW is an initiative to engage with end-customers and channel partners in the SMB and mid-market sector with hands-on demonstration on security, mobility, IP communications and network foundation solutions. Cisco is targeting financial services, manufacturing, retail, education and hospitality among other small business clusters with this program.

Providing more details on the NOW program and financing plans, Ranajoy Punja, VP-Marketing, Cisco Systems, India and SAARC said, "The challenges that SMBs face today are in terms of keeping pace with the transitioning market forces of which IT is an inherent part. Often they desire to upgrade their existing infrastructure but fail to do so on due to lack of operational knowledge of products and financial crunch. With coupled efforts of NOW and easy financing options by Cisco Capital, SMBs an also achieve growth in business."
