MSI adds eSys as its national distributor

Monday, May 15, 2006

MicroStar International (MSI) has appointed New Delhi-based eSys Information Technologies as its fourth national distributor to increase its geographical reach. "The main objective behind this tie-up is to grow the business volume and to achieve our objective of deeper penetration in non-metros," said Frank Sherap, Country Manager, MSI (India).

FRANK SHERAP: Looking at volume business and deeper penetration in non-metros

This distribution tie-up is in addition to national distributors arrangement with Mumbai-based Maxtone Electronics, Mumbai-based Priya Group, and Kolkata-based Tirupati Enterprises. According to the company the partnership with eSys will enable MSI to reach out to a new set of business partners. eSys has 29 branches all over the country with a strong presence in the North.

"eSys will start off with distribution of Intel platform-based MSI motherboards and gradually add up the entire range of MSI products, including VGA cards, laptops, CE products and servers," added Frank.

About six months back, MSI also had CyberStar as its national distributor based-out of Bangalore to cater to the southern market. However, this deal fizzled out for reasons best known to the company. With no distributors originating from the southern region, the company banks on Priya and Maxtone to cater to the southern region.
