AMD India hosted a three-day South African channel summit to share its product roadmap. 23 premium AAA members were rewarded for their contribution during the summit, which is in its second consecutive year since conception.

Floated to identify and recognize AMD's deserving partners across the country, the event rewarded partners for their performance and ability to meet prescribed targets for Q4 '05. A total of 125 channel partners from 36 cities across the country qualified for the event and were taken to an all expense paid trip to South Africa.

HARESH BHARIA: To strengthen focus on the SMB, government, education, BFSI and energy sectors

This summit was instrumental in communicating AMD's India strategy, marketing plans and future product lines to partners. The company will strengthen its focus on the SMB, government, education, BFSI and energy sectors.

Speaking on the training program, Haresh Bharia, National Distribution Manager, AMD India said, "Typically, at summits such as these, partners are taken through upcoming product lines and strategies. At AMD, we go further by utilizing these occasions to garner vital feedback from channel partners and to aptly thank them for their contribution. We encourage the channel to embrace and evangelize the new products being launched so that together; we can address the needs of our customers and take technology innovation to their doorsteps."

Sharing his views about the program, Himanshu Jain from New Delhi's SMC International, a channel partner said, "AMD has been our partner since they opened their office in India, and we have shared a mutually beneficial relationship. We are looking forward to launch the new products in the Indian market."

23 awards were given in four different categories on best reseller award (from top nine cities). The emerging markets award was given to resellers
from eight new cities like Jaipur, Chandigarh, Nagpur, Indore, Coimbatore, Trivandrum, Madurai and Siliguri.

The best system integrator award was given to four resellers from each zone. The top reseller award for 2005 was given to General Computers, Hyderabad and SMC International, New Delhi. The validations for these awards were based on aspects related to the number of AMD
processors sold, consistence in performance, growth and reach.
