After two-years of idling, Via Technologies has decided to reopen its central-processing unit (CPU) production line while aiming at the ultra mobile personal computers (UMPC). The move was prompted after Via received orders from a Japanese contract-computer supplier, PBJ Inc, for its C7-M ULV processors.

VIA'sC7-M ULV processor has a high power efficiency rate that enables the ultra compact and ultra portable devices to run longer than any available solutions in the today's market. Beside PBJ, Amtek, MoBITs and PaceBlade ordered handsome orders of Via's VX700 chips. VIA has display several sample products from its clients that were equipped with Via C7-M ULV processors during the CeBIT exhibition.
