Oracle India will strengthen its presence in Pune and the neighboring regions of Maharashtra as part of its expansion plans in Indian non-metro cities. The company has selected and trained local partners to meet the needs of organizations across key industries in India, Krishan Dhawan, MD, Oracle stated.

Oracle is partnering with Clover Technologies, Sonata Information Technology, Ingram Micro India, Rapid Effects, Spider Systems, Lauren Information Technologies, Softcell Technologies, Fiona Infosystems, Benelec Info­tech and Sujata Data Products in Pune. These firms have the domain knowledge to address the needs of the manufacturing, IT, and FSI industries as well as the technical knowledge of Oracle's product offerings, Krishna said.

Oracle's presence in Pune is expected to spur its growth as an emerging national and global player. As part of the expansion plans, it is offering its Express edition free of cost to small companies. Besides Pune, Oracle is planning to expand in eight other Indian cities: Ahmedabad, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam, Coimbatore, Indore, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Lucknow.
