MicroWorld launches MailScan for Linux

MailScan for Linux will perform scanning of all e-mails for viruses and spam including attachments at the gateway level

MicroWorld Software Services has formally announced the commercial launch of its high-end security solution ‘MailScan for Linux’. According to the press release, the software will not only perform the scanning of all incoming and outgoing SMTP/POP3 e-mails for viruses and spam but also the attachments at the gateway level itself ensuring that not even a single bad content is delivered to the user’s mailbox. According to the company, the software also has the intelligence to look into the compressed attachments and block the whole attachment even if a single file is found to be suspicious. This feature makes the software capable of fighting the wildest attacks like MyDoom and Bagle.

All e-mails considered to be spam by the system are marked spam and delivered to the specific folder so that the user can read through these e-mails at his convenience and does not lose any important information.

“The number of big organizations with thousands of mailboxes on a Linux based server is growing at a phenomenal rate. It is not possible to keep a check on every single mail box manually while just a single mail box may lead to the infection of the whole system,” said MicroWorld CEO and MD Govind Rammurthy. “MailScan has been developed such that the administrator gets an extensive report on all security breaches and can take appropriate action immediately. This ensures that not even a single unchecked, compromised mail goes into the network without the knowledge of the system administrator,” he added.

The company has decided to offer an inaugural discount of 25% on these products.
