A focus on upcountry market has helped Technocrat Infotech to post a healthy growth rate, and thus a place in the Silver Club this year

Thursday, September 18, 2008

Ayet another distributor has emerged from Kolkata, and has made its debut into the Silver Club this year. Technocrat Infotech stood at #24 with a turnover of Rs 110 crore, posting a growth of
29 percent from the previous year's turnover of Rs 85 crore.

Mainly concentrating on East, the company had considerable presence in Patna and Ranchi. With seven branches spread across East apart from its base in Kolkata with an IT mall and a warehouse in the city.

The company has been distributing Epson and Xerox products in Kolkata for a long time now. It has been focusing increasingly on the upcountry market, especially with its own homegrown brand-Bitech. The company expects this strategy to reflect in an eight percent increase in its revenues this fiscal, with the additional 20 percent growth coming in from its retail initiatives. It also hopes to get into the networking domain-a segment that it has not been hitherto focused on.

Established in 1995, the company has significantly grown in size since its inception venturing into the domain of information technology. Having branches in all major cities and towns of eastern India, Technocrat Infotech now is all set to expand its domain of distributorship further by increasing the number of principal companies it has in its kitty.

Highlights

  • Focused on upcountry markets like Ranchi
    and Bihar
  • Opened an IT mall in Kolkata
  • Emphasis laid on homegrown brand-Bitech
