Bangalore-based Mega Compu World posted a turnover of Rs 140 crore, an
increase of 12 percent over the previous fiscal's Rs 125 crore. While this
growth was not entirely bad, it was a dip from the previous fiscal's growth rate
of 25 percent. This could be due to the fact that Mega Compu World continued to
focus solely on the southern market rather than expanding into other regions of
the country.
However, the company managed three new vendor tie-ups in the last year. These
included Asus, Maxtor and AMD. Also, Mega Compu World has managed to grow its
retail unit in Bengaluru as well as a branch in Ahmedabad.
A good portion, almost 45 percent, of the business came from selling to
resellers and dealers. Home and SOHO customers brought in another 20 percent.
