New Delhi-based Fortune Marketing touched the turnover figure of Rs 221 crore in 2007-08, posting a healthy 74 percent growth over the previous revenue of Rs 127 crore and thereby has secured its position in the Silver Club this year also. While accelerating its revenue target, the distribution company is also in the phase of expanding the manpower strength and is now planning
to widen the current base of 150 people to 200 in the next financial year.

The company has managed to establish a fair distribution of its business operations all over the country, including the metros and B-class cities. In the year 2007-08, Fortune Marketing opened new branches in Chandigarh and Dehradun, and currently has its presence in 16 locations including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Noida and Pune.

24 percent of the business was harnessed from the northern market and 35 percent from southern region. West and East contribute to 30 and 10 percent, respectively to the total business, which shows that the company has spread itself well across all regions.

Last year, Seagate awarded the company as Rookie of the Year. Fortune Marketing distributes its products across the country through a well spread network of resellers, system integrators (SIs) and retail partners. Currently, the company has developed a base of 2,500 channel partners and with opening of more offices and adding of more product lines, this number of channel is intended to go up by at least 30 percent in the coming year. While the reseller channel chipped in 50 percent to the company's turnover, SIs and retailers brought in 10 percent each to the table. The SMB emerged as an important customer vertical bringing 20 percent to coffers.
