| 8.Allied Digital Services :Reason To Rejoice Even though Allied Digital Services fell from #5 to #8 position in this
year's Silver Club, it has serveral reasons to rejoice
Allied Digital Services posted 44 percent growth which is the second highest
all SPs in the Silver Club. Its revenue for 2006–07 was Rs 156 crore, while it
stood at 88 the year before. The company expanded its countrywide coverage from
72 to 92 locations. An additional 422 employees were recruited into the
organization in the technical support, sales, marketing and middle management
area. Last fiscal Allied Digital also opened an office in Sydney, Australia to
tap the business potential there. It won several accolades in 2006-07 including
an award from DQ Channels as 'Most Comprehensive Solution Provider' and 'Best
Systems Integrator' by The DQ Week.
Chief project bagged by Allied Digital was the SAP Infrastructure Solution
deployed by it for 22,000 SAPs using open source operating system. This was
India's first large scale SAP deployment on a Linux platform. Besides this, it
also deployed the asset management and endpoint security solution for over
45,000 users for the ICICI Group. According to Allied Digital, this is the
largest deployment of asset management and endpoint security solution in
Asia-Pacific region using LANDesk Management Suite. Apart from these two
contracts, Allied Digital won the IT infrastructure management and IT
outsourcing contract for five years from Otis Elevators.
The year 2006–07 saw Allied tying up with vendors like Echelon for
intelligent building management system, Epicor for enterprise resource planning
and Verint for IP video surveillance and video analytics solutions for physical
security.
It has also tied-up with e-Cop to set-up e-Cop's security operations center
in India. The future looks bright for Allied Digital with new initiatives like
remote management services, TBPO etc. The company has plans to grow by 100
percent.
Recently Allied went for an IPO in the price band of Rs 170 to Rs 190 per
share. The company plans to use these funds to set up a 35,000 sq ft new
corporate office in Mumbai and expand its warehousing space across the existing
12 locations that it has. Some funds will be utilized in beefing up the internal
infrastructure including deploying ERP and VPN and sprucing up its repair
centers. Allied also plans to set up a 250-seat BPO, a network operation center
(NOC) and a security operation center (SOC) to offer remote network management
and the managed security services.
