18.Fortune Marketing :The Growth Champion

The company with the fastest growth amongst distributors in the Silver Club, Fortune Marketing made it possible because of its wide breadth of product portfolio

Clocking a growth of 44 percent in 2006-07 over the previous year's turnover, Fortune Marketing pushed its revenues to Rs 127 crore, and thereby managed to secure itself a position in the Silver Club this year. With a wide range of products in its kitty, it is now focusing on the upcountry market by directly making its presence in smaller cities.

Expanding its products base and experimenting in the upcoming business of security, the company also introduced storage and surveillance products to its list. Its turning point was its elevation from a mere sub-distributor of Seagate to its national distributor. This move signaled Fortune's entry into the big league.

The company also tied up with Plustek for the distribution of business card scanners in India.

In order to provide a complete solution suite to local commercial and industrial equipment system integrator, Fortune also started working with Sunix, which is into manufacturing of IO cards.

Though based in New Delhi, the company gets a bulk of its business from the southern market, which is almost 44 percent, while north contributes 26 percent. East and west bring in 12 and 18 percent in revenue contribution, respectively.

Exploring market opportunities in B and C-class cities, Fortune opened offices in Pune, Ludhiana, Jaipur and Indore in a short span of six months . It is aiming to open four to five more offices in other smaller cities by the end of March 2008.
