8.Rashi Peripherals:Building On Events

After a successful debut of its annual channel outreach program, the CBF was conducted in 39 cities last year, Rashi Peripherals is now all set to address partner grievance about vendor support

Rashi Peripherals had a very busy year. It moved its corporate headquarters to a new place and then followed this with an implementation of SAP. It also conducted the Channel Business Forum (CBF), an annual channel outreach program in 39 cities last year. The event consisted of a live simulation of home, office and gaming zones with the latest products on display. It also added 12 more branches in D- and E-class cities.

The company thus managed to grow its agency turnover by 20 percent to touch Rs 480 crore in 2006-07. It also got several accolades from its vendors. Some of them were the 'Sultan of the year' award from HP for PSG products, the 'Best Performing Distributor in South Asia' and 'Key Distributor in India' from Logitech, as well as acknowledgement as best distributor for base business for laptop in H1 by HP again.

One key movement within the company's managerial echelons was the ouster of Rajesh Goenka. He was the divisional head for Rashi, had been with the company for over five years, and was the front face to the channel.

In the tie-ups spectrum, Rashi tied up with American Power Corporation, Jetway and SanDisk in 2006-07.

It recently tied up with HP ProCurve for its complete portfolio for LAN, WAN, and WLAN segments. Another vendor alliance was with Leadtek Research, an exclusive workstation partner of Nvidia in Asia (except Japan), to expand its Quadro market and provide service to customers in India. Rashi is already a partner for Nvidia in the region. AMD has also appointed Rashi Peripherals as the authorized distributor for its entire range of CPUs across India.
